Not Your Typical Marketing Agency

We have built successful businesses from the ground up, felt the pressure of backing our own decisions, experienced both failure and huge wins, and learned firsthand what it takes to grow something sustainably. Over the years, that experience has shaped a team that leads with both heart and commercial clarity, combining creativity, honesty, and care with a genuine commitment to helping founders move forward.

With a sharper service mix, a highly capable team, better systems, and the development of The Data Lab, we now have access to clearer insights and stronger decision-making than at any other point in our journey. That means every recommendation is more intentional, every action is more informed, and the results we help create are better aligned to real business growth. We are grounded, invested, and deeply passionate about what we do, but we bring more experience, more data, and more capability to the table than ever before.

Before 2016

Long before MyAgency existed, the foundations were already being built. My journey into marketing began at Canterbury University, although I was often more interested in promoting ski and skate events for the student association than sitting in lectures. But the real learning came from getting out into the world and doing the work. Early roles in ski and event marketing taught me the power of branding, promotion, partnerships, and audience connection. There were wins, there were failures, and plenty of trial and error too, including launching a music festival that did not succeed. But that chapter mattered. It built resilience, commercial awareness, and the understanding that real growth rarely comes from theory alone. It comes from testing, learning, and getting back up better than before.

2016 to 2019

This was the chapter that changed everything. During this time, Rosie built and scaled MyTreat, an e-commerce subscription business launched with just $500 and a huge amount of determination. What started as a bold idea quickly became a serious business, eventually paying a six-figure salary and being sold after two years and eight months for nearly half a million dollars. That experience gave MyAgency something many agencies never truly have, first-hand experience of what it means to grow a business from the inside. Ad spend was personal, pressure was real, margins mattered, and every marketing decision had a direct commercial consequence. It was not theory. It was lived experience.

2019 to 2020

After the sale of MyTreat, the focus shifted into consulting and supporting some of the suppliers and brands connected to that business. Based in Cromwell, when COVID arrived, demand for digital marketing support accelerated quickly. Businesses suddenly needed to understand online growth, e-commerce, lead generation, and digital visibility in a way many never had before. That period helped shape the practical, commercially-minded service model MyAgency has became known for.

2021 to 2024

By 2021, the business had grown beyond a solo operation. The team grew, the office grew, and MyAgency reached its largest size to date. We also gained invaluable business knowledge during this chapter, with James Powell and Bryce England investing in the agency after first working with us as clients. They had seen the impact of our work for themselves and believed they could help us build stronger systems, greater efficiencies, and a more scalable business.

At the same time, we were delivering a high volume of organic content and Meta Ads services for a wide range of growing businesses. But with growth came clarity. The biggest client results were not coming from trying to offer everything. They came from combining a laser focus on the data with strong top and bottom of funnel strategy. Organic content still had an important role to play in the middle, but it was no longer the driver of the most meaningful commercial gains.

So we made a deliberate shift. We stopped offering the majority of our services and focused on the small number of things that consistently delivered the strongest outcomes. That decision changed everything. It accelerated our own growth, and more importantly, it accelerated growth for our clients. Many of the businesses that joined us in 2024 are still with us today, having grown from small owner-operated businesses into larger operations with teams, stronger infrastructure, and six-figure monthly revenue.

This chapter gave us more than momentum. It gave us clarity on what we do best and showed us exactly where the future of the agency needed to go.

2025

In 2025, everything changed.

This was the year The Data Lab was developed, a major turning point not just for the business, but for the way clients were supported. The Data Lab created a clearer, smarter way to connect marketing activity to actual business performance, helping clients understand what was working, where the opportunities were, and what needed to happen next.

Working alongside Callaghan Innovation helped reinforce just how special the tool was and what it could mean for both clients and the agency team. This was the shift from being just another marketing agency to becoming a far more strategic growth partner. It changed the conversations, the quality of decisions, and the kind of results the business could help create.

2026

With the opening of the Dunedin office for our dedicated data team, MyAgency are in a new phase. One defined by sharper insight, stronger systems, and a more flexible way of working. By combining data, strategy, education, and execution, we help businesses across New Zealand, Australia, and beyond grow in a way that is both more sustainable and more confident.

At the centre of this is a highly skilled core team. Their capability, and commercial understanding are exceptional. With better access to data and stronger decision-making frameworks, every recommendation is more informed, every action is more intentional, and the results speak for themselves. The work is stronger, the thinking is smarter, and the outcomes are better than ever before.
