When a client comes to us wanting to increase sales, we begin by meeting with them to discuss their challenges and goals.
Discovery
A lack of clear sales targets is usually our starting point. We work with clients to forecast sales by line item and break these down by sales channels. This includes reviewing the data to see what is working and what's not. Where are the opportunities for immediate success, and what can we improve quickly and for the greatest ROI to make sure our work has the greatest chance of successful results for our clients.
Developing the Strategy
When we have access to the client’s data, we analyse traffic quality, website conversion rates, and the gap between current and required traffic levels. This allows us to determine the volume of traffic needed to hit the sales targets. With these insights, we create a tailored strategy with you that includes testing different methods to drive the required traffic, ensuring we are reaching the right audience with the most effective messaging and placements.
An important part of this stage is gathering high-quality digital assets, including images and videos. These assets play a significant role in how well ads perform. Clients can engage us to create this content from scratch, provide raw content for us to edit, or supply their own ready-to-use visuals. If additional content is required, we may request product samples for in-house photography and videography or schedule a professional shoot to ensure we have the right material to support the campaign. The sooner high-quality assets are available, the more control we have over the effectiveness of the ad strategy.
Before developing new, we enjoy the opportunity to test existing client content to gauge its effectiveness and assess cost-per-click (CPC) performance. By reviewing how past content has resonated with audiences, we can identify what works best and refine our approach accordingly. If the existing content is underperforming, we make strategic adjustments to messaging, creative elements, or targeting parameters before launching full-scale campaigns. This ensures that every ad we run is optimised from the outset, maximising return on investment and setting the foundation for strong, sustainable sales growth.
Implementation
Our priority is ad editing, as turning ads on can often generate immediate sales. It also provides immediate data on conversion rates and where improvements are needed in order to achieve the clients desired outcomes. If a lead form is required on the client’s website, our dev team handles the implementation while our creative team prepare the ads. Sometimes, we create a lead magnet (e.g., a downloadable document), using a template tailored to the client’s industry.
In some cases, we conduct a customer survey to collect feedback on what they loved about the product or service. These surveys typically generate between 1 and 200 reviews, which we repurpose into story graphics, emails, website content, and social media posts.
Conversions
Once ads are live, we move into the Conversion Tuning stage. At this point, we analyse all available data to determine where improvements can be made to maximise results. Website behaviour is evaluated to identify any friction points that may be causing visitors to drop off before checkout or lead submission. Heatmaps, session data, and bounce rates help us pinpoint underperforming pages or sections that require optimisation.
Optimising a website for conversions requires a structured and staggered approach to ensure that each change is monitored for its impact and can be adjusted or reversed if necessary. Rather than making sweeping alterations all at once, we implement targeted tests to assess how individual changes affect user behaviour and conversion rates.
This process may involve testing different versions of key pages, such as product pages, lead forms, and checkout processes, to compare their performance. We test variations in button placement, wording, or colour, as well as different page layouts, imagery, and calls to action. If form completions are low, we experiment with reducing the number of required fields or adjusting the design for better user experience. If product pages are not converting, we test new headlines, additional product descriptions, customer reviews, and improved image galleries to determine what resonates best with visitors.
Since these changes can have both positive and negative effects, we roll them out in phases, allowing time to gather data and measure the results before making further adjustments. This approach ensures that any modification negatively impacting conversions can be quickly undone without disrupting overall sales performance.
We also monitor how different audience segments interact with the site, identifying whether mobile and desktop users experience the same ease of navigation and whether any technical issues are affecting conversions. By continuously refining website elements based on real-time data, we ensure that traffic is not only increasing but also converting at the highest possible rate.
SEO & Organic Growth
Once ads are live, we focus on other traffic sources and improving the quality and volume! This typically takes two to four weeks. We begin by identifying potential fixes and sending these to the client. We also analyse search data to improve organic rankings. During an SEO meeting, we present our findings and collaborate with the client to select target keywords. Cole then prepares meta description updates, which we review before rolling out the full set of SEO improvements.
While SEO work is underway, or team uses data from initial testing to develop more video content, organic posts, stories, and emails.
After two weeks of ad activity, we review performance data to determine whether additional videos are required or if creative adjustments are needed. If content is performing below our benchmarks, we refine our approach accordingly.
Tracking Results & Scaling Performance
We have an internal system that tracks weekly progress. This helps us ensure we remain responsive to the market throughout the campaign and can effectively implement changes throughout the month as needed. It helps us have the best opportunity to ensure monthly reports are delivered to clients with successful results and significant amounts of learning and knowledge around their system for selling. Clients can see how we are performing against traffic targets and whether conversion rates are maintaining, increasing, or decreasing.
Typical implementation timeline:
Week 1: Ads go live
Week 2: Stories launch
Week 3: Organic social posts and reels begin
Week 4: SEO gains traction
Week 5: Email campaigns start
Week 6: Ads are fully optimised (although this can take up to 12 weeks)
After six weeks of driving traffic, we have enough data to determine:
A) Whether the client is on track to hit their sales growth targets
B) If website improvements are needed to enhance conversions
C) The level of investment required to reach sales targets at the current growth rate
D) Any necessary adjustments to external messaging (this is typically measured weekly to avoid major reworks by week 7)
At MyAgency, we don’t just set up campaigns, we change lives… by continuously refining and optimising websites, listening to the data and creatively pursuing sustainable long term business growth.
